This song is entirely built out of field recordings made in Japan. Recordings were gathered at the site of Yukio Mishima's failed coup and suicide at Camp Ichigaya in Tokyo at the Zuihoden Mausoleum at the graves of sixteenth century samurai who committed ritual suicide in solidarity with their lor Date Massamune and at Osaki Hachiman Jinja, a temple of the god of victory in Sendai and a public schooyard near that temple. Percussive sounds sourced from kendo practice recordings supplied by Rudolf Eb.er

The great underlying instrumentation paired with Florence's droll stream of consciousness lyrics make this album stand out. It feels so personal and confessional. Favorite tracks are Strong Feelings and Leafy. I've heard Scratchard Lanyard on alt radio and love that one as well. tofupotpie
